Planning Your Outfits for Travel

When it comes to traveling, as much as I love visiting new places, making new memories, and going on new adventures, my other favorite part is planning my outfits ahead of time. I like doing this and think it’s important because:

1-It saves you time, for when you get to your destination you are not wasting time cramming for something to wear, instead you can spend more time relaxing and not be late for dinner or the 7 AM  tour!

2-And money,  you won’t find yourself  going crazy buying everything in sight at the mall the night before your trip only to find that you did not need half of these items in the first place OR WORST finding out you already had it, am I speaking to someone? LOL

3-Saves you luggage space, the night before your trip you won’t be forced to over pack! There’s nothing more disappointing than at the end of a trip to realize that you carried a bunch of clothes only not to wear them and  Remember that you’ll probably be buying some souvenirs, so that’ll leave some space for those.

4-The best part you are sure to always look good while you’re on vacation (who doesn’t want that)  you’ll have exactly what you want to wear and know that it looks good because you took your time to plan it all. I think that deserves giving yourselves a pat on the back!

Now, how do you go about that? Where do you start ?

First you have to know where you are going and base the items you are looking for around your destination, my most recent trip was to Punta Cana , so I had to think tropical and easy going, think simple.

You then need to plan your itinerary a little, even if you don’t get to plan everything to the T but at least get an idea of what can be going on for you trip, I call it doing #FFO Forecasting For Outfits, LOL let’s make that a thing!

Usually when we think new place, the first thing that comes to mind is shopping, but don’t make that mistake. I find that always starting  with my closet is the best way to go, sometimes what we may be looking for is right under our nose. So go in there, get to digging maybe there are some items that you kinda forgot about that you can use, a scarf or hat or some flats… Once finished then you can move on to shopping if necessary (yay!!)

After compiling items that you have found in your closet, then pick some core items that you can score 2 or more outfits out of. Most of the time that is a pair jeans, (you don’t need 4 pairs of jeans on a weekend getaway) but can also be a cute top, or even a pair of shoes. With these items be sure that they can paired with almost anything and you’ll  still look fly for the times during your trip when an unexpected outing comes up.

And voila, all is that is left to do is for you is to be creative and put together a kick ass vacation wardrobe and pack it all up, Which I can show you guys if you are interested.

Planning your outfits before your trip will make that experience much more enjoyable knowing that you have one less thing to worry about.

Let me know if you guys would be interested in a look book , maybe, where I get into detail of how I put my outfits together for when I travel, I think that’ll be fun!

Also, what are some of the things that you all do when putting together a packing list for travel? Comment below.

Great ideas and I especially love that #FFO hashtag! You’re so right, a dig in the closet usually yields things you forgot about, something I’ll be doing soon xx
