What if I told you that every challenge came with a lesson to be learned and that no matter what, there’s always something to be taken away from it? That is what I learned this year and hopefully, by the time you end this blog post, you’ll believe that as well!
Being faced with back to back challenges this year, as I am sure we all did, I began to realize that there was a lesson to be taken away. When I started to Acknowledge that there was more than meets the eye, I wasn’t as agitated anymore and my mind was not racing as to how or when this not so happy time would end for me.
before I had this limiting belief that I knew most of it all and the rest that I didn’t would suddenly appear from thin air. I finally made the realization that we, YES WE, are more eager to KNOW than to LEARN. I had to understand that learning had to come BEFORE knowing in order for me to prosper and make use of my life experiences.
So why is this lessons learned thing important?
Lessons learned mean that you are doubly prepared for the next challenge because you are now filled with the knowledge of past experiences that you are now ready for whatever may come.
They keep you from repeating the same mistake over and over. Don’t you notice that sometimes you go through the same trouble over and over again? Well, that’s because you haven’t learned the lesson you need to take out of that situation yet. This also comes handy in keeping yourself from being in toxic friendships/relationships. You know the warning signs, and behavioral patterns that you observed from previous lessons learned so you aware of where certain situations will lead. Here’s the hard truth, the same thing will repeat itself until you learn from it. Once you do that watch yourself make that mistake or get into that unwanted situation less and less every time the opportunity presents itself.
Lessons Learned also mean that you are getting closer to become the person you strive to be. This reason is what got me the most excited about taking out every lesson possible out of my journey!
Here’s the thought: when you ask God to mold you into the person he called you to be, be prepared for some serious molding and shaping!
You will be faced with challenges and specific situations that are solely there to get you to that place, YOUR BEST SELF! Isn’t that exciting? Having your own personal MAKEOVER! Cause your challenge will be different than the next person’s. So when you approach it this way, knowing that anything that happens to you, will ALWAYS lead you to your best self!? Be open to learning!
If you don’t remember any of what I said here; always keep this idea in mind that in order to grow in your purpose, to make a positive change in your life, to make progress you must be open to simply learn from the teaching journey that is your life.
I hope and pray that the bits I shared with you, will help throughout the upcoming year, feel free to also share your lessons learned and why you think they are important in the comment section below.
Thank you for reading and happy holidays!
