I’m so excited to finally share Ezrah’ nursery (at this point almost his big boy room) with you guys! Admittedly a little late, we have been slowly working on his nursery before he was born. At the time we only did the painting, furniture, amper and diaper pails. Even though the nursery wasn’t complete it has been fully functional. After coming home from the hospital that’s where he would take his naps and we transitioned him to sleep overnight later on. Now this is also where we read and play, get ready for school and bedtime, it’s his safe space and he knows that it’s his room! We have a few months ahead of us to continue calling it his nursery before we convert it to a big boy room so I’m enjoying all the moments.

My vision for the nursery was for it to not be too baby-ish, to be functional, bright, airy but with character.
The big pieces of furniture (Crib and dresser, and glider) are from Delta children. We had the crib for a few years before we even thought of being pregnant, my godmother offered it to us as a joke after we got married and I said why not!? So when it was time to complete the nursery we just got the matching dresser and glider.

This was definitely a slow process to complete. Starting with the foot rest. I think I went through maybe 4 before finding this one.
My favorite part of the room has to be the accent wall, which gives the room so much character and definitely a talking piece. It came exactly as I imagined. Getting the baby animal pictures started off a bit stressful because I thought I was going to have to order the prints and then frame them . Thankfully with some searching I landed on those from Target, and they fit perfectly. The baby lion for strength and courage, The elephant for patience and wisdom and the bear just because his nickname is Ezzy Bear and was part of his baby shower theme.

The next wall art I added was 1:1 birth scale drawing. This I got from Etsy, printed and framed it myself.

This cute personalized blanket was gifted to him from my family for his dedication day. And this form was gifted to him by my mom and dad for his dedication as well. I plan on adding a picture of the 3 of them together after we take our family pictures but for now this cute newborn one will do.

For the small entry way to his room I simply added a set of our maternity pictures and ultrasound pictures.

The idea of floating shelves was what we went with to display his books and decorative items.

If you are a soon to be mom let this be your reassurance that your nursery does NOT have to be ready before your baby arrives. Free yourself from all that pressure and stress. If it is great, but if not it’s okay to take your time and get it done with it is possible for you!
Let me know what you think!
